On Friday April 27th, Afnan called me to say that Layan was able to stand on her own for more than few seconds. Afnan has been 'training' Layan to keep her balance while standing. Inshallah soon she'll walk.
On another note, Layan is much better now, her coughing is way less. It's very sad to see children sick - the sound of her coughing was like grownups. Alhamdulilah ala salametha.
Layan is also starting to use sign language: she can say Milk (by closing her fist) or sleep (by scratching her head). She also uses 'Bye bye' for 'lets go from here' or 'lets go sleep'.
We took Layan to San Francisco on Saturday to see some friends. She really enjoyed it. She loves people. She really like Nizar - supposedly all children like him. She was scared of Basel - he's an improvisation actor. I think he made one of his 'scary' faces :-) She spent a lot of time with Layal - a new favorite friend (and 20 something years older :-)).
Afnan is busy preparing for Layan's first birthday. And for Layan's sleeping arrangement in Amman. Let's see what happens...
